Mathew will lead Children’s operational and strategic Technology & Innovation functions, supporting continued growth, expanding digital capabilities and advancing innovation across the enterprise. He will play a key role in ensuring Children’s delivers secure, reliable IT services and scalable technologies, while also helping to accelerate innovation, analytics, AI capabilities and digital transformation initiatives that improve the experiences of patients, families and care teams.
"Jose Mathew is an exceptional leader who brings strategic vision, operational discipline and an ability to connect technology, data and innovation directly to patient care and organizational outcomes," said Ryan Cameron, EdD, executive vice president and chief information & innovation officer. "Just as importantly, he is a thoughtful, collaborative leader who builds strong teams and strong partnerships. We are very pleased he will join Children’s at such an important time in our growth."
Mathew most recently held a long-standing executive leadership position within one of the nation’s largest public health systems, where he partnered closely with the chief information officer to oversee enterprise applications, infrastructure and analytics. He has consistently delivered meaningful improvements in clinician workflows and operational efficiency, while advancing strong capabilities in data, analytics and AI-driven transformation.
Mathew holds an Executive MBA in Healthcare Leadership from the University of Texas and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School.
"Throughout history, healthcare professionals have remained the adaptive constant while technology continues to evolve around them. I believe the future of healthcare is not about replacing human care with technology, but about amplifying compassion, connection and clinical excellence through innovation," Mathew said. "Children’s Nebraska has an incredible opportunity to lead the future of pediatric healthcare by combining innovation, agility and operational excellence with a deeply human-centered mission focused on improving the life of every child."
