Press Release: Children’s Nebraska names Ryan M. Cameron as executive vice president, chief information and innovation officer

OMAHA, Neb. — Children’s Nebraska has named Ryan M. Cameron, Ed.D., CHCIO, CDH-E, as executive vice president and chief information and innovation officer, effective Jan. 25. In the role, Cameron will lead the organization’s enterprise digital strategy, technology operations and services, cybersecurity, innovation and data and analytics capabilities.
Cameron has more than 25 years of experience driving digital transformation and innovation in healthcare, higher education and technology organizations. He currently serves as vice president of technology and innovation at Children’s Nebraska, where he has led enterprise digital strategy, AI and IT governance and initiatives that improved clinical care, operational efficiency and patient experience.

His work at Children’s Nebraska includes establishing the Mammel Innovation Center, developing new partnerships, expanding the 3D program, designing and rolling out virtual reality and digital therapeutics in behavioral health and wellness and launching “Hey Medicaid,” an agentic AI platform designed to automate Medicaid eligibility.
Before joining Children’s Nebraska, Cameron held senior technology and innovation leadership roles at Ivy.ai and Creighton University, where he led large-scale digital transformation initiatives, built high-performing teams and fostered collaborative partnerships across clinical, operational and academic domains. He is the author of two books, “A.I. – 101” and “Onward, Upward. Sometimes Sideways.: Empathy-Driven School Leadership in the 4th Industrial Revolution.”
Cameron earned a doctorate in education from the American College of Education and a master’s degree in information systems from the University of Phoenix. He is nationally recognized for his contributions to healthcare innovation and has been honored as the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives’ 2025 Innovator of the Year, a Modern Healthcare Top Innovator and the AIM Institute Technology Innovator of the Year.
