Thanks to the advancements in cancer treatment, more and more children that are diagnosed with cancer are surviving into adulthood. Battling cancer is a serious hardship on its own, but recovery can come with its own challenges.
After surviving cancer, health problems (late effects) can develop years after your child has completed treatment. Your child’s risk of long-term effects may be different than another child based on the specific cancer treatment they received. Fortunately, dedicated screening for these late effects can help identify possible problems early.
The Children’s Survivorship Clinic was created to provide specialized follow-up care for childhood cancer and bone marrow transplant survivors. With close follow-up and careful monitoring, we can help ensure your child achieves their best quality of life.
