Children’s Hematology/Oncology is led by nationally known experts using cutting-edge innovations to provide the very best cancer and blood disorder care for patients in our state, the region and beyond
Neurofibromatosis (NF) clinic
Children’s offers the only comprehensive Neurofibromatosis (NF) clinic in the region. NF is a genetic disorder that affects the nervous system and can lead to tumors. Because the condition can impact many parts of the body, our clinic includes a multidisciplinary team of skilled pediatric providers across many specialties.
Comprehensive Bleeding Disorders Clinic
The Comprehensive Bleeding Disorders Clinic, treating conditions such as hemophilia, Von Willbrand Disease, acquired inhibitors of coagulation, platelet disorders and other clotting factor deficiencies, is offered once per month at Children’s. Patients and families meet with multiple specialists during their visit, reducing the need for additional appointments.
Newborn Clinic for Hemoglobinopathies
In partnership with the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services (DHHS), Children’s offers a unique newborn clinic to detect and prevent life-threatening symptoms caused by hemoglobinopathies, such as sickle-cell disease. Our specialized team reaches out to families with a positive screening to offer education and to schedule necessary appointments to start the care process for infants as soon as possible. Within the clinic, patients will see a provider, receive Genetic and Social Work counseling and case management support.
Children’s Infusion Center
To better serve the busy schedules of our patients and families, Children’s Infusion Center is now open seven days a week.
