Nurse Education

Nurses play a critical role in providing care. They are often the first face a child sees as a patient, the ones who communicate most with families, and the liaisons between members of a child’s care team.

That’s why we’re committed to ensuring that the nurses at Children’s Hospital & Medical Center receive the nurse training, education, and resources they need to be the highest quality pediatric nurses in the region.

Fast Facts
Children’s Nebraska has earned Magnet ® status for 3 consecutive designations.
The ANCC’s Magnet Recognition Program® is the highest and most prestigious credential a healthcare organization can achieve in relation to quality patient care and nursing excellence. Only 7% of healthcare organizations have earned this prestigious credential, and only approximately 2.8% of US hospitals have achieved 3 or more designations!
As a Magnet-recognized hospital, our nurse residents can expect a level of education that is grounded in evidence-based practice and research.
This enables them to explore the safest and best practices for their patients and practice environment, while also developing the ability to generate new knowledge as they move forward in their career here at Children’s Nebraska.

“I enjoy working with nursing students and helping them learn about pediatrics. Hopefully, when I work with them I am able to share a little bit of my love and passion for caring for my patients and their families.”

—Anisa Hoie, RN, Hematology/Oncology Nurse, Children’s Nebraska
