Helping Students Prepare for a Career in Pediatrics as a Medical Assistant

Are you interested in becoming a pediatric medical assistant and looking to build on your career?

If you have a passion for working with children of all ages, then apply to Children’s exclusive sponsorship program, which includes:

  • Up to $5,000 in sponsorship for education expenses
  • Paid CNA work in Children’s outpatient specialty clinic setting to learn to care for pediatric patients
  • Realistic job previews to help identify a focus area for the student as a future medical assistant
  • Flexible scheduling throughout the program
  • 1:1 mentoring support
  • $2,000 bonus upon completion of the Medical Assistant Sponsorship Program

At Children’s Nebraska, our S2MA program provides sponsorship funds and employment to support students who are interested in a career in pediatrics as a medical assistant.

Eligibility

Applications for the Student to Medical Assistant (S2MA) Pediatric Sponsorship Program will be accepted from qualified individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • Current and valid Nurse Aide registry in the state of Nebraska required
  • Currently enrolled in or accepted into a medical assistant program
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required

Application & Interview Process

Applications are accepted online for a new cohort of the S2MA Sponsorship Program each spring, summer, and fall. Based on established criteria, qualified candidates will be invited to complete the S2MA interview process.
