About Richard L. Amendola, MD
Richard Amendola, MD, is an orthopedic sports medicine physician at Children’s Nebraska who specializes in knee and shoulder conditions, including patellar instability, shoulder dislocations and shoulder arthroplasty. He also serves as a team physician for the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers, LOVB Omaha and several Omaha-area high schools. Dr. Amendola earned both his undergraduate and master’s degrees in biomedical engineering from the University of Iowa, where he also completed his medical degree. He went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at The Steadman Clinic and Steadman Philippon Research Institute. Outside of orthopedics, he stays active by skiing, golfing and cycling. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kimberly, and their three children, Rose, Annabelle and Arlo.
