Colby L. Fletcher, OD

Dr. Colby Fletcher is an optometrist on the Children’s Nebraska ophthalmology team. His primary role is with our Visionmobile program. He received an exercise science undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney in 2007. In 2011, he graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry.

 

Dr. Fletcher is a lifelong Nebraskan. He was raised in the small, rural town of Spencer. Following Indiana University, he joined a family-centered optometry practice in Valentine. That’s where his joy for pediatric eyecare grew. He started at Children’s in April 2018 and has passionately been engaged in increasing access for the pediatric underserved population ever since. He’s a member of the American Optometric Association and serves on the board for the Nebraska Foundation for Children’s Vision as well as the Nebraska Early Childhood Collaborative Health Services Advisory Committee. He specializes in detecting pediatric eye anomalies and the need for glasses in school-aged children.

 

Committed to education, Dr. Fletcher has lectured to audiences on a local and national level.

 

Dr. Fletcher and his wife enjoy a quiet dinner out on the town occasionally, but what they love most is following their four children to their various activities. The Fletchers are avid Husker and Hoosier fans. He enjoys golfing, pickleball and cooking.
