Payton N. Ranck, OD

Dr. Payton Ranck is an optometrist on the Children's Nebraska ophthalmology team. Dr. Ranck grew up here in Omaha and completed her undergraduate education at the University of Kansas, where she received her bachelor of science degree in molecular, developmental and cellular biology. She then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn., where she received her doctor of optometry degree.

 

As an Omaha native, Dr. Ranck is thrilled to be back home caring for the patients of Children's Nebraska. She is passionate about ensuring that every child has the visual tools they need to be successful in their daily lives. Her passion for eyecare began when she learned about how systemic conditions can present in the eye and how eyecare can play a role in managing disease. For this reason, Dr. Ranck enjoys working closely with other providers to manage ocular and systemic disease. She also has a special interest in myopia control, as she has worn glasses since a very early age and wishes that myopia control would have been an option for her when she was a child.

 

Dr. Ranck is an active member of the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG), as well as the American Optometric Association and the Nebraska Optometric Association. Additionally, she is a board member for the Nebraska Foundation for Children's Vision.

 

In her free time, Dr. Ranck likes to spend time with her partner and their two cats. She also enjoys cooking, reading, puzzling and working on one of her many craft projects.
