About Christopher Curzon, DO

My name is Chris Curzon, and I’m an interventional cardiologist at Children’s Nebraska.

I do catheterization-based procedures, so a lot of my patients come to me prior to a procedure starting — the morning of, usually.

If a child has never gone through a heart catheterization, it can be a very anxiety-provoking situation for them. they’re nervous. they’re scared. The parents are nervous and scared. To them, it’s a very big deal and I understand that. I can respect that and as a parent myself, I can understand how they’re feeling.

We work very closely with our cardiac surgeons. We work very closely amongst ourselves within cardiology, with partners that have areas of expertise that we must draw on to make the best decisions, and to come up with the best models and care plans specifically for that child. I think that working with others and collaboration in that way is imperative to take care of these kids.

I’m continually amazed at the strength these parents can have. They can look at me and say, “Just take care of my little one for me.” I know that has to be one of the hardest things that they can do. I never forget that level of trust that they’re placing in me for that.
