My name is Nicole Villareal, and I’m a pediatrician at Children’s Physicians in Council Bluffs.

I’m from Council Bluffs, and when they opened a clinic here in Council Bluffs, it was natural to join them. I trained at Children’s. I’m familiar with how they run things.

I definitely have the goal of the child’s health and making the parenting experience as painless as it can be. So, having an open relationship where the parents can ask questions and have worries answered is helpful. I think over time, you develop that trust because we all have the same goal.

I tell parents: The best parent is an interested parent. Even if we have a different take on how to handle things, as long as you’re caring for and concerned about your child, you Can’t go wrong.

I think generally, my patients have developed a longstanding relationship with me, with a lot of trust. They feel like they can come to me with anything. With the parents, I generally try to be open and helpful, and make them feel appreciated and heard during their visits. I hope they’d say I’m a good doctor.
