Jennifer A. Smith, MD

I’m Jennifer Smith. I’m a pediatrician at Children’s Physicians, Embassy Park.

 

I’ve been interested in pediatrics my whole life. I really loved my pediatrician when I was little, and it just progressed from there.

 

I love my kids, I love what I do, and I love my patients. I hope my patients would describe me as someone who is very concerned about their health, and also their whole life. I try to encourage them to be the best person they can be and to strive to be what they want to be, and not what society tells them to be.

 

As a general pediatrician, I think one of my assets is that I know my limitations. The one nice thing about being affiliated with Children’s Hospital is that they have some of the best specialists in the country. So when there’s a need for additional care, I have them right at my fingertips. They are very helpful and supportive and it makes for great teamwork when taking care of my patients.

 

I believe that working with parents, families, and patients is about teamwork. I actually call my patients my kids — and I hope they realize that I take that seriously. I treat them as well as I would treat my own children.
