Malinda J. Bender, MD

My name is Lindy Bender. I am a pediatrician at Children’s Physicians, Council Bluffs.

I am the second oldest of eight kids. When my youngest brother was born, I was involved in his care because he was fairly sick and going to the doctor. So I really got a chance to see pediatricians in action at a young age, and since then I’ve been really inspired to work with kids.

I think parents would find me very trustworthy. First off, I am a parent myself so I understand that relationship a family needs between their pediatrician and their children. It’s very important to have that relationship, and I think I’m very worthy of being able to tell parents that I can be there for them when they need it.

My patients describe me as being very engaged. I feel it’s very important to understand the patient as a whole, their family care, in addition to their emotional well-being and their social well-being. It’s important to take the aspect of the whole child into account.
