Cathy Hudson, MD

My name is Cathy Hudson and I’m a pediatrician at Children’s Physicians, Creighton.

I’ve always loved children — that has not changed. When I was in high school, I made the decision that I wanted to be a doctor, and I’ve pursued it ever since.

We have a lot of patients who have whole life challenges — so it’s not just the medical part of the child that we’re treating. We have children who have a lot of social issues, environmental issues, and housing and transportation issues. We address all of that. The only way you’re going to make sure that the child is healthy is to take care of the whole child and the whole family. We do a lot of that with our social services here.

I’ve had some training in child physical and sexual abuse, so I do a lot of consultations in that area. I also take care of a lot of children with asthma. Many minority children have asthma — and also ADHD.

There’s no true one specialty — we kind of do it all and see it all. We also rely on the other physicians in this office to bounce ideas and suggestions off them. We work really well as a team.
