About Steven S. Sindelar, MD
My name is Dr. Steve Sindelar. I’m a pediatrician here at Children’s Physicians Bellevue.
Hopefully, my patients would describe me as somebody who is knowledgeable, who treats them with respect, treats their family with respect, listens to them.
I’m at the point in my career where I have what you’d call a mature practice. I’ve been around quite a period of time — about 20 years — so I’ve had a wide range of little kids all the way up to the adolescent age group. I see about anything.
I do enjoy taking care of the ADHD patients and helping out with all aspects of their life — whether it’s school or social situations or whatever it may be.
The best thing is, don’t be afraid to contact your pediatrician if you have questions. Parents are pretty perceptive about what’s going on with their kids. They don’t know exactly what’s going on, but they know there’s something wrong — particularly with small babies — and I think it’s important for them to be able to contact us whenever they feel there’s a problem. they’re not bothering us, of course — that’s why we’re here. That’s the best advice I can give.

Dr Sindelar has been the greatest resource for my children!

I have no doubt that Dr. Sindelar is a knowledgeable physician and a good person. He portrayed this in the questions and advice he gave while showing genuine interest in the care of our child. However, we had concerns regarding his bedside manner before his physical exam. There was no introduction or explanation of what he was about to do before beginning the examination. Other physicians we’ve seen in the past have taken a moment to speak to our son and prepare him—especially before performing a testicular check during a routine visit. Instead, Dr. Sindelar removed our son’s diaper and began the examination without any explanation or warning, which left our son visibly upset and distressed. He did not explain what he was doing until after our child was distressed. While I do believe Dr. Sindelar cares about the health of his patients, this made us uncomfortable. For this reason, we’ve decided not to return to him for future care. We hope this feedback is taken constructively and respectfully.
