About Melissa K. Suh, MD
Dr. Melissa Suh is a board-certified pediatric general and thoracic surgeon. She serves as Director of Pediatric Surgical Oncology, Medical Director of the Vascular Access Team, Associate Program Director of the Pediatric Surgery Fellowship and is an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).
Dr. Suh earned her medical degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency and pediatric surgery fellowship at UNMC and Children’s Nebraska. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Her clinical practice focuses on pediatric surgical oncology, where she works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized, high-quality care. She also has a dedicated focus on vascular access, providing safe and reliable options for children requiring short- and long-term therapies.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Suh is actively involved in research aimed at improving outcomes for children with solid tumors. She is co-director of the newly developed NE CIRCUITS Solid Tumor Bank, an initiative designed to advance scientific understanding and treatment of pediatric cancers. Her research focuses on pediatric solid tumors and the development of advanced surgical techniques to enhance precision, reduce complications and improve long-term outcomes.
