Smitha E. Mathew, MBBS, has joined Children’s in Orthopedic Surgery. She received her medical degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Nehru Nagar, Belagavi, Karnataka India. She completed Orthopedic Residencies at Father Muller Medical College in Kankanady, Mangaluru, Karnataka, India, and Christian Medical College in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. Dr. Mathew completed two Pediatric Orthopedics fellowships at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare in St. Paul, Minn./ Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., and Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., followed by a Foot and Ankle fellowship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. She is an assistant professor, UNMC Division of Orthopedics, Department of Orthopedic Surgery & Rehabilitation.
