Home Healthcare

Your child doesn’t always need to be in the hospital to receive expert care. Through Children’s Home Healthcare, our team brings hospital-quality services right to your door, offering the same level of care you’d expect in a medical setting.

About Us

With Children’s Home Healthcare, nurses, physical or respiratory therapists and other pediatric providers can still see and treat your child. If your provider prescribes home care services, we’ll coordinate seamless care. We’ll provide the services your child needs from the comfort of home, including setting up medical equipment and managing and administering medication. Our team will also ensure you have the tools and training necessary to care for your child at home.

Your family plays an important part in your child’s home care. Our team will collaborate with you to ensure you understand your child’s condition and care. We’ll show you how to use the appropriate medical devices your child needs, how to administer any medications, which symptoms to watch out for and what to do if those symptoms arise. We’ll also show you how to use any medical devices your child needs. Our team is available to address any questions or concerns you may have throughout your child’s treatment and recovery.

Meet Our Providers

Your child’s care team may include a variety of providers tailored to individual and changing care needs. Our Home Healthcare providers include:

  • Home Health Nurses
Our pediatric nurses will visit your home to monitor your child’s condition and provide other tailored services. They’ll keep you informed about your child’s care while also providing services such as getting samples for lab work, managing medication delivery, (including central or IV lines), overseeing phototherapy or other treatments and addressing any other healthcare needs your child may have.

  • Private Duty Nurses
For complex care and ongoing care needs, your child’s care team may arrange for nurses to come to your home for a specific nursing shift. These typically range from 4 to 12 hours.

  • Respiratory Therapists
These specialists will guide you and ensure that any breathing-related medical equipment is working correctly.

Next Steps

Step 1: Talk to Your Provider

Start by discussing your child’s needs with their healthcare provider. Ask if home health care is the right option for your child and request a referral. This step ensures your child gets the care they need at home.

Step 2: Schedule a Visit

Once you have a referral, our team will help you schedule a home visit.

Prepare for Your Visit

Preparing for a Home Health Visit

  • Day-of Confirmation: On the day of your visit, you’ll receive a call to confirm your nurse’s arrival time. During this call, you’ll also learn who will be coming and what type of care will be provided, so you know exactly what to expect.

  • Helping Your Child Prepare: If appropriate, talk with your child ahead of time about the visit. Let them know a nurse will be coming and explain in simple terms what they can expect, helping them feel more comfortable and at ease.

Ordering Home Medical Supplies

  • Phone Orders: Call Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Allow at least 2 business days. Urgent orders can be picked up at our office. After-hours routine orders may have a $30 service fee.

  • Email Orders: You can also email orders. Email requests are processed the next business day. Please download the Parent Handbook for more information.
