Children’s Urgent Care Clinics are available when your child has an illness or injury that’s not serious enough for the emergency room, but Can’t wait until your Children’s Physicians office opens. Urgent care hours are:
- Weekday evenings from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
- Weekends and holidays from noon to 10 p.m.

Schedule An Appointment Through the Children’s Connect Portal (Current Patients Only)
Children’s Connect is our online health portal that allows you to schedule sick visits and well-check appointments online, day or night. With Children’s Connect, you can access your child’s test results, diagnoses, medications, growth charts, and immunization records any time. Plus, you can message your child’s healthcare team when it’s convenient for you and fill out any paperwork needed for an upcoming appointment before you get to the office.

- COUNCIL BLUFFS – Complete after 2/27/2019 (No physical required for 7th graders not doing a sport)
- CATHOLIC OMAHA SCHOOLS – Each school’s date varies. Check with your individual school.

Nebraska state law requires a vision screening be conducted on all students entering kindergarten and all out-of-state transfer students. Vision screenings are also highly encouraged for all incoming 7th grade students, but it is not required. Hearing screenings are highly encouraged for all incoming kindergarten and 7th grade students, but it is not required.
Sports Physicals
Nebraska state law requires sports physicals to be completed after 5/1/2019 and turned in before the first day of your child’s sport practice.
Some schools allow 7th graders to use their 7th grade physicals as their sports physicals. Check with your school.

Each office also offers extended hours for appointments to accommodate busy families. This means you don’t have to miss work, and your child doesn’t have to miss school. Plus, Children’s Physicians is automatically linked to Children’s Nebraska — and all of the pediatric specialists associated with it.
Call your Children’s Physicians office to connect you with nurses specially trained in pediatric medicine. An on-call physician is available if needed. If you need to be seen after hours, Children’s Urgent Care Clinics are available.

Learn More About Our Treatments and Services
Our pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants can do the following:- Perform regular check-ups, physical exams, and medical screenings: We look for signs and symptoms of many disorders, such as asthma, depression or anemia. One such screening, the M-CHAT (Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers), helps us detect autism in young children.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and other health conditions, such as ear infections, strep throat, or the flu
- Provide vaccines, including measles, chicken pox, HPV, meningitis, and seasonal flu vaccine
- Work with specialists to manage chronic disorders, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or diabetes
- Order needed tests, such as lab work and X-rays
- Counsel your family on preventative care and good health
- Provide educational resources
Regular check-ups (also called well-child visits) ensure that your child is growing up healthy and strong. Here is our recommended schedule for when your child should have a regular check-up:

In addition, we offer certified lactation consultants to help moms feel more confident and relaxed with breastfeeding. Each lactation consultant is certified by the International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants, the highest certification available. You do not need to be a Children’s Physicians patient family in order to use our lactation services.
We also offer the convenience of tele-lactation, allowing you to access our lactation consultants from the comfort of your own home. You don’t have to be a Children’s Physicians patient to see our lactation consultants. To learn more about our lactation services, call 402-955-MILK (6455).
