Children’s Nebraska is committed to providing a website that is accessible and user-friendly to the widest possible audience. To fulfill this commitment our digital services are continually tested and reviewed for accessibility. Children’s digital services are being improved to increase usability by all persons, including the use of automated tools, keyboard navigation, screen readers and other related assistive technologies.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Children’s digital services are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are working to have the website and all digital services to conform to the relevant standards of the WCAG guidelines.
Children’s efforts to improve digital services and accessibility are ongoing. Our goal is to have the website adhere to WCAG, Section 508 and other guidelines and standards. It is not always possible to do so in all areas of Children’s digital services.
