Children’s Nebraska is pleased to introduce five new child ambassadors featured in its current advertising campaign. These patients were selected to represent Children’s five pediatric specialties in the 2018-19 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings by U.S. News & World Report. Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrine Disorders, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Orthopedics and Pulmonology. This is the highest number of specialties Children’s has ranked since participating in the nationwide survey.
Look for our ambassadors in Children’s advertising collateral and on display in the elevators on the main campus. Featuring individual patients helps us share their stories and highlight our team’s expertise in a compelling, personal way.
Melia, age 8
Congenitally Corrected Transposition of the Great Arteries
A young detective at heart, Melia’s biggest mystery, so far, is a complex heart condition. To help piece the clues together, her family connected with the cardiac team at Children’s – highly trained pediatric specialists who cracked one heart pounding case.
Caleb, age 9
Type I Diabetes
A fourth grader with a mean front kick, karate-loving Caleb has been fighting Type I Diabetes since he was 2 years old. Never in the ring alone, he has the specialists at Children’s in his corner – “black belts” in treating children with diabetes and endocrine disorders.
Gracie, age 10
Crohn’s Disease
Call her Gracie the Graceful, a budding ballet, jazz and tap dancer. When serious digestive issues rattled her rhythm, Gracie’s pediatrician referred her to the GI specialists at Children’s, a team that lifts young lives with our own powerful “duet” – pediatric training and extensive experience.
Kylee, age 14
Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease)
Born with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (Brittle Bone Disease), Kylee has had broken bones all her life. That’s why her family turned to the orthopedic specialists at Children’s – an expert team ensuring this amazing teen can reach her full potential.
Kruz, age 6
Allergies
Kruz is a kid who fires on all cylinders, racing from baseball to art to music. The only thing slowing him down? A serious case of allergies. That’s why his “pit crew” includes the highly trained team of pediatric lung specialists at Children’s. Now that we’re cruisin’ together, this energetic first grader can really shift into fifth gear.
